Its January 2008

And who in their right mind would get a puppy in the winter! Meet Dottie, the newest addition to the family. Isn't she cute! Dottie is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier-ist. She will grow to about 15" and weigh around 35 lbs. She is mostly house broken now ....unless a rain storm comes in, then her stats go down to about 85%. Ah well, what ya gonna do! She has the best time running in and out of the doggie door, bringing in all manner of obscure lost things and plant debris from the backyard. Sometimes the older dogs play with her. And of course, I already have taken a few hundred photos of her.

Lately its been rainy and windy here in the PacNW. I have taken a much needed break from most all things photographic after I finished with my Christmas orders rush. Time to step back and just rest my brain for a couple of weeks. I always come back better for having done so. Kind of a mind recharge.
Soon enough it will be time to start preparing the numbers for tax time. Booking my 2008 events and project travels and getting my equipment into the shop to be cleaned and readied for shooting season.
Dottie may start going to some conformation shows later in the year so of course she is going to need a little training time. I don't have much faith in conformation dog showing, but I do like to do it with a young dog for the socialization value and making her an overall more worldly canine citizen.

Happy New Year. Here's to keeping warm and dry ...for the most part. :)

Congrats on the puppy Mary, we rescued a German Shepherd puppy (we flew down to San Diego and drove home)...en route we named him Thor...

Right now he's 13 weeks old and weighs 25lbs

We're not into the Christmas puppy thing either, it's just my travelling has stopped for a couple of months and timing was perfect....
